Canadian Public Diplomacy with Deputy Minister Marie-Lucie Morin

Marie-Lucie Morin was appointed Associate Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in December 2003. Prior to this appointment, she served as Assistant Deputy Minister, International Business and Chief Trade Commissioner and from September 2001 to September 2003 as the Director General for International Business - Policy and Planning.

Mrs. Morin has extensive experience abroad in San Francisco (1981-84), Jakarta (1984-86), London (1986-90) and Moscow (1994 to 1997). In 1997, Mrs. Morin was appointed Canada's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Norway with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of Iceland, a position she held until her return to Ottawa in September 2001.

Mrs. Morin was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada in 1957. She attended the Collège de Sherbrooke, the University of Sherbrooke and graduated with her LL.L. In 1980 she was admitted to the Quebec Bar.
