A Conversation with Kim Ghattas, author and BBC correspondent

CPD-Journalism Directors' Forum

The USC Center on Public Diplomacy and USC Annenberg School of Journalism were pleased to host a conversation with Kim Ghattas, the BBC’s State Department correspondent since 2008 and author of “The Secretary: A Journey with Hillary Clinton from Beirut to the Heart of American Power,” released in March 2013.

After traveling across the world with Hillary Clinton during her tenure as Secretary of State, Ghattas provided a firsthand account of Clinton's diplomatic efforts. Ghattas' assessment drew on her years of journalistic experience, as well as her European/Middle Eastern background and her upbringing in Beirut.

Before covering the State Department, Ghattas was a Middle East correspondent for the BBC and the Financial Times.
