Hungarian pavilion at Astana expo receives 200,000 visitors
In the last two months the Hungarian pavilion at the international exposition in Astana, Kazakhstan, received 200,000 visitors, Minister for National Economy Mihály Varga said on Friday on the "Hungary Day" of Expo 2017 Astana - Future Energy.

The Hungarian pavilion showcases advances in energy efficiency, renewables, electric mobility and innovative construction solutions, according to state news wire MTI.
Expo 2017 Astana - Future Energy runs until September 10. It is expected to draw some 5 million visitors.
Varga opened the more than 400 square-meter Hungarian pavilion on June 10. Among the companies with a presence in the pavilion are the state-owned Hungarian Electricity Works (MVM) and oil and gas company MOL. The startup Platio, which has developed an energy-producing pedestrian pavement system using solar panels made of recycled materials, is also highlighted.
Quoted in a report on official government website kormany.hu, Varga stressed that in the past couple of years economic cooperation between Hungary and Kazakhstan has evolved into a "strategic partnership," thanks to which bilateral trade volume has soared, gaining some 270% in the first five months of the year, in comparison to the same period of 2016. Besides stronger economic, educational and cultural relations, another important result cited by the minister was the launch of a direct flight this summer between the capital cities of Hungary and Kazakhstan.
Agriculture may drive cooperation
Agriculture could be the driver of economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Hungary, Hungarian Minister of Agriculture Sándor Fazekas said after holding consultations with First Vice-Minister of Agriculture Kairat Aituganov in Astana Saturday, the ministryʼs press office told MTI.
Hungary is ready to share with Kazakhstan its experience in agrarian technologies and the food industry, Fazekas said.
Following bilateral discussions, Fazekas also took part at the events of the Hungary Day at the Astana expo.
