DENPASAR, Bali, Indonesia, Oct. 10, 2016 (Antara) -- Directorate General of Culture, the Ministry of Education and Culture of Republic of Indonesia, Hilmar Farid, inaugurated the International Youth Forum 2016 (IYF) at Balai Banjar Pura Samuan Tiga in Bedulu village, Gianyar, Bali, on 3rd October 2016. In his speech, Hilmar hoped that all of the participants could make benefit of the experiences they would get during the event.

"Bali is inarguably culturally rich. Culture is an inseparable part in every element in human's life. In this event, we will see all the kids dance, sing, make handicrafts, and do everything they love," said Farid to all of the participants.

He continued through this event, the culture is expected to be able to help the world community solve all kinds of problems. "This event will help the world to get to know more about the culture, the role it plays to help us make the world a better place to live. In addition, all the participants can expect to learn more about the Indonesian culture, particularly Balinese culture," Farid explained.

Director for Cultural Heritage and Diplomacy, Ministry of Education and Culture, Indonesia, Nadjamudin Ramly, added that IYF is a comprehensive platform for the youth to take part in the world development through the creative and innovative ways. "We start making a great future of this world from here, Gianyar, " stated Ramly.

Head of Cultural Office, Gianyar, I Gusti Ngurah Wijanakepa, highly appreciated that the event is hold in Gianyar. "It's such an honor for us to be the host of this event. This city offers so many Hinduism-Buddhism heritage that we can learn from," added Wijanakepa.

Held on Oct. 9-14 2016 in four traditional villages in Bali, namely Bedulu, Tenganan, Bongan, and Panglipuran, IYF is a part of World Culture Forum 2016 to be held on Oct. 10-14 in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia. The event will see 173 participants from 39 countries to build an awareness of the importance of a cultural perspective in perceiving social, economic and political issues globally and locally as well as encourage the youth around the world to get involved in building a better society.
