Seven students of M S University have been selected for the prestigious European Union-funded Erasmus Mundus Fellowships worth Rs 85 lakh.

VADODARA: Seven students of M S University (MSU) have been selected for the prestigious European Union-funded Erasmus Mundus Fellowships worth Rs 85 lakh. The fellowship programmes are arranged and managed by the Office of International Affairs at the M S University of Baroda.
A MSU release here stated that the fellowships have been awarded for the exchange programme to commence from the academic year 2014-15.
The selected students belong to the Faculties of Family and Community Sciences, Science as well as Engineering and Technology. Under these fellowships, the selected students from the M S University of Baroda will be going to the European partner universities for one to two semesters under the exchange programmes, said MSU director for international affairs, Sharad Bansal.
The students will be paid monthly fellowships in addition to return air fare, visa charges and insurance cover. After returning back to MSU, the credits earned by the exchange students will be transferred as per the newly formed guidelines of the MSU. This is perhaps for the first time that so many students from the university will be going to reputed European universities on fully paid fellowships under the exchange programme.
The M S University is a partner in two prestigious European Union-funded Erasmus Mundus Mobility consortiums - GATE, which has 09 European partner universities, and EUPHRATES, which has 09 European partner universities. The exclusive partnerships offer a large number of scholarships to the university students and staff at all levels in various fields.
