2014 CPD Summer Institute

The USC Center on Public Diplomacy has been accepting applications for the 2014 CPD Summer Institute in Public Diplomacy, which runs from July 20 - August 1. The program is now full.

During this unique two-week program, practitioners and scholars from around the world will work alongside each other to develop their public diplomacy tool-kit.

The core principles of advocacy, listening, and soft power will be reviewed and implementation classes such as strategic communication, digital analytics and evaluation, nation/place branding, creativity and innovation, multimedia storytelling in public diplomacy and designing public diplomacy strategies will provide participants with valuable hands-on learning opportunities.

Taught by some of the world’s most distinguished public diplomacy experts, the Summer Institute attracts participants of the highest caliber from a wide range of public diplomacy career fields including foreign ministries, non-governmental organizations, intelligence and economics agencies, defense and homeland security, and the private sector.

Graduates of the Summer Institute hail from a number of international organizations such as the African Union, the British Council, CENTCOM, ECOWAS, Israel Defense Forces, Korea Foundation, the United Nations, and the World Bank.

Almost 30 countries have been represented over the past eight years, including Brazil, China, India, Israel, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Qatar, Rwanda, South Africa, Taiwan, Tunisia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States.
