CPD Director quoted in Tampa Bay Online piece on the use of social media in the military

CPD Director,Philip S eib was quoted in a story about how U.S. Central Command uses social media to respond to "enemy" propaganda, "you get a lot of wrong information, purposely or accidently, on the web, that can take on a life of its own and by engaging people about that expands the debate", Seib said.

The article appeared on the Tampa Bay Online site and noted that the digital engagement strategy is key to success in the region.

Seib goes on to note that "certainly the bad guys, extremist groups, are very adroit at using the Internet for proselytizing and recruiting and we cannot let that go unchallenged."
