Special Olympics Opens in LA

The 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games opened on Saturday at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. This sports mega-event has brought together 6,500 athletes from 165 countries to participate in events including aquatics, cycling, gymnastics and track and field, held at venues across greater Los Angeles. The Special Olympics are a celebration of the athletic talents and abilities of the participants, as well as a forum for international exchanges, cross-cultural dialogue and social inclusion.
