Craftswomen from countries like Afghanistan, Bhutan, Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are scheduled to display their wares, demonstrate their skills and exchange designs and techniques under the guidance of designers, provided by Dastkari Haat Samiti.

The Ministry of Culture on Thursday launched its official website www.pakistanculture.org with an illustrated tour of the rich history and living traditions of the ancient seat of great civilisations. History, folk traditions, crafts, music, literature, folklore and archaeological sites are given a representation through the website, providing the visitor a broad vista of the depth and variety of Pakistan’s culture.

“Made In Britain: Contemporary Art from the British Council Collection 1980 – 2010” has been created in partnership with the Sichuan Provincial Museum, Xi’an Art Museum, Hong Kong Heritage Museum and Suzhou Museum, to provide the first opportunity for audiences in four regional cities in China to see original art works by leading British contemporary artists.

Cases from one of India's largest museums have been unlocked and shipped to the UAE after they were allowed to leave their homeland for the first time. Treasures dating back to 13th century were shown outside India at the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilisation, which opened the exhibit yesterday.
