News this week focused on religion's role in public diplomacy.

Russian capital will be hosting a new round of Nagorno-Karabakh negotiations. But this time the participants are not the presidents and foreign ministers, nor even the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs. This time the problem will be addressed by the spiritual leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The Japanese “Va-Liqa” music band has performed in Baku. Addressing the event, Japanese Ambassador to Baku Teruyuki Katori and Head of Khatai Executive Authority Razim Mammadov highlighted the importance of the concert. [...] The speakers noted that both countries are interested in expanding relations, adding such cultural events contribute to further fostering cultural ties.

Many events occur in the world today and such events as the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue can be useful for solving global problems, Hungarian Minister of State for Cultural and Science Diplomacy Istvn Jgyrt told Trend. He made the remarks on the sidelines of the 4th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku May 5. "The forum is extremely important," Jgyrt said. "Without a dialogue it is impossible to go forward. The forum should continue to bring people together."
