Chinese, Swedish and Germans will have a taste of local music during Botswana's 50th independence celebrations, courtesy of ReBatswana Music Ensemble. Countries such as the US, the UK, Germany and Canada, the report claimed, are able to promote their influence through language, education, culture and the media...

Since its premiere in Beijing in 2013, the 90-minute show has become something of a cultural calling card for China as the country seeks to bolster its efforts to project soft power abroad. Having already toured in Europe, the production will move to New York in January and then to the Kennedy Center in Washington.

Global challenges that affect millions of citizens and nations must be examined collectively, inclusively and jointly. The large influx of migrants does not represent a single isolated issue that can be easily dealt with, but rather demands greater efforts. The United Nations can provide a more robust platform for addressing the migrant crisis. All nations together must participate in addressing and offering support to refugees and the host nations.
