Taiwan and China have reached initial consensus on the exchange of representative offices after two rounds of informal consultations and three rounds of formal talks since early April, according to local media reports.

American Councils for International Education is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) program which is responsible for bringing over 22,000 international high school students to study in the U.S. American Councils is marking the occasion today by co-hosting a reception on Capitol Hill with Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Ann Stock from the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

The exchange was comprised of several activities testing their interoperable command, control and communications capabilities, including naval gunfire support procedures, helicopter deck landing procedures, vessel boarding, search and seizure techniques. “Engagements such as these are critical to our strong international partnerships,” said Lt. Morgan Roper, response department head at Coast Guard Sector Guam. “These activities allow us to learn the procedures and capabilities of our defense partners, and develop the plans which guide real-world responses.”

For instance, Russian language classes are planned to be established in Georgia and Georgian language classes – in Russia. I would like to note that in Georgia such classes have been established already. Treatment of Russian asthmatic children, ICP and musculoskeletal patients is to be provided in Georgia. Art exhibitions, festivals, and concerts are going to be organized.

European leaders should send university students to Israel as part of efforts to combat rising levels of anti-Semitism and xenophobia, Foreign Ministry director general for public diplomacy Gideon Meir declared on Thursday.
