Since 2014, the Crosscut Asia non-competition category has been organized to increase Japan's cultural interaction with other countries in Asia. The category helps to strengthen the filmmakers network across Asia and their exchange with journalists and film critics. Each year, the festival focuses on one country. This year the festival is celebrating "Colorful Indonesia."

Taiwan and Indonesia are economically complementary to each other and should strengthen their cooperation, a special envoy of Indonesian President Joko Widodo said Thursday. He said Taiwan has taken the right path by launching its "New Southbound Policy" targeting Southeast Asian countries.

A clear majority of Australians (72 percent) said they would like to learn more about Indonesian culture — a strong finding for champions of cultural diplomacy. When the discussions turned to education, the alignment was unmistakable: 57 percent of Indonesians said they would like to learn more about Australia and a similar number (59 percent) agreed basic education about Australia should be improved in Indonesian schools. 

The heads of missions of five Asean countries based in Dubai met in a networking event for the first time with leaders of their communities on Monday to discuss future areas of collaboration [...] “As a community, you need really to have a very good people-to-people interaction. This program is aimed at strengthening the friendship and diplomatic relations through art and culture.

The Indonesian Embassy of Namibia is promoting Indonesian cuisines, such as martabak (stuffed pancake or pan-fried bread) and lumpia (spring rolls), to introduce Indonesian culture particularly to college students. This is a kind of soft diplomacy by Indonesia. 

TV just like at home – for millions of Chinese viewers in Europe. The new bobbles.tv pay TV platform is going on air today. The service for international communities in Europe is launching with 18 popular Chinese channels. bobbles.tv can be received throughout Europe via satellite and internet. An Indonesian TV package featuring seven channels is launching at the same time as the Chinese service.
