The 162-year-old Associated Press news agency, an American icon, has chosen London as the hub of its global television operation. Ian Burrell pays a visit to its historic offices.

One year after that Arirang TV officially launched domestic broadcast services and began expanding worldwide with the mandate of promoting a better understanding of Korea in the global community.

This research project will examine best practices as broadcasting and Internet-based media converge by government broadcasters. The broadcasters which will be evaluated in this research include: Voice of America, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Radio Marti, and Radio Free Asia, CCTV, Al Jazeera and the BBC. Particular attention will be paid to how these broadcasters use social media to reach their audiences.

European Union foreign ministers have urged Iran to stop jamming satellite signals that have affected transmissions by several Western broadcasters, including Deutsche Welle and the BBC.
