Actor Lee Jun-ki has been picked to promote Korea at the 2010 Shanghai Expo. He received a letter of appointment from the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency at its headquarters in Seoul on Wednesday. Lee will attend various promotional events at the expo to be held from May to October in the Chinese city.

Organizers of the event merged the country's exquisite selection of food and various genres of music to better promote through diplomatic channeling. And more than a dozen ambassadors from various parts of the globe attended the ceremony to experience Korean dining.

South Korea will promote its high- end technology and popular culture at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, the government said Wednesday. South Korea will also build a corporate pavilion, worth 29.9 billion won (25.8 million U.S. dollars), where 12 local companies including Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motors, LG, SK, and POSCO, will showcase their products.
