Evaluating Public Diplomacy: A Roundtable Discussion with Ambassador Gideon Meir

Ambassador Gideon Meir visited the USC Center on Public Diplomacy with two diplomats from the Consulate General of Israel in Los Angeles: The Consul General of Israel, Ehud Danoch, and The Consul for Media and Public Affairs, Gilad Millo to discuss issues in public diplomacy. This event is co-sponsored by the USC Center on Public Diplomacy and the Casden Institute for the Study of the Jewish Role in American Life.

The presentation was followed by a panel, chaired by Bruce Zuckerman, professor of religion and Myron and Marian Casden Director of the USC Casden Institute for the Study of the Jewish Role in American Life. Other panel respondents will incluce Rabbi Jonathan Klein, the Allen and Ruth Ziegler Rabbinic Director at USC Hillel, and USC Center on Public Diplomacy Professor Nicholas Cull, director of the USC Master's in Public Diplomacy.

Ambassador Gideon Meir

Deputy Director General for Media and Public Affairs, of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Gideon Meir, will be visiting Los Angeles during the week of March 20 - 24, 2006.

Ambassador Meir is Israel’s highest-ranking media authority, and a longtime diplomat who has served around the globe.

Ambassador Meir has been a frequent commentator for many internationally renowned media outlets. He has been a frequent guest on CNN, BBC and Sky News, among many others. Considered one of the Israeli government’s leading spokespeople, Ambassador Meir is interviewed and quoted regularly in newspapers and on radio programs throughout the world and has lectured at some of the world’s top universities and international conferences.
