About Dr. Bernd Fischer
Bernd Fischer has been head of the German Consulate General in Los Angeles since July 2012. Fischer’s distinguished career began in the 1970s, when he was a Fulbright fellow at the University of Arizona and a German Academic Exchange (DAAD) fellow at the London School of Economics. Since earning his Ph.D in Philosophy from the University of Heidelberg, Fischer has served as German Ambassador to the Republic of Croatia and at the embassies in Washington, Tokyo, and New York. As Consul General in Southern California, Arizona, Nevada and Utah, he seeks to foster and deepen German-American relations.
