The USC Center on Public Diplomacy inaugurates the William H. Luers Lecture Series on Iran and Public Diplomacy.

The Elliot School of International Affairs at George Washington University hosted a panel titled Public Diplomacy in the Next Four Years: A Post-Election Look at American Strategies and Priorities for Engaging with the World.The Panel featured Ambassador James Glassman, Former Undersecretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs Judith McHale, Former Undersecretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs, Paul Foldi, Senior Professional Staff Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and P.J. Crowley, Former Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs.

The Fall issue of PDiN Monitor focuses on Women in Public Diplomacy with feature articles by Michele Bachelet, Director of UN Women, and Melanne Verveer, Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women's Issues. These articles address two recent initiatives that have brought women's rights to the forefront of international policies and diplomacy.

Undersecretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs at the U.S. Department of State Tara Sonenshine discusses public diplomacy on Campbell Conversations, a Syracuse University interview based program. She discusses the methods that are employed as well as the practitioners that are involved in successful public diplomacy. In addition to discussing the techniques that are used, Undersecretary Sonenshine also illustrates how public diplomacy challenges the traditional form of diplomacy.

The USC Center on Public Diplomacy has released its latest Annual Report which highlights the Center’s work over the 2011-2012 academic year. CPD's research projects, publications, events programming and professional training are outlined as well as examples of its international reach and its important ties to USC's Master of Public Diplomacy program.

Della Mae, an all female American Blue Grass band rooted in the Appalachian Blue Grass tradition are the new cultural ambassadors for the United States. In a program sponsored by the American Music Abroad and the U.S. Department of State, Della Mae is touring around Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.  This clip is from the first performance of the tour at Fatima Jinnah University, the oldest all women’s college in Islamabad, Pakistan.

CPD Research Fellow 2011-13, Sarah Ellen Graham, pens the latest paper for the CPD Perspectives on Public Diplomacy series. Her research focuses on the bilateral relationship between the United States and India and culminates in her paper "Engaging India: Public Diplomacy and Indo-American Relations to 1957".

The Agence France Presse created the E-diplomacy Hub, a platform that analyzes the followers, activity, interactions and retweets of the Twitter handles of diplomatic actors in real-time throughout the world. From heads of states, to foreign ministers, to activists and diplomats, users can customize and follow Twitter activity, trends, and events. In addition to being able to search using a number of categories, E-Diplomacy Hub users will also be able to use an interactive map which allows people to look and understand e-diplomacy networks in different countries around the globe.
