CPD Director Reviews “Battles to Bridges” by R. S. Zaharna

CPD Director Philip Seib has reviewed Battles to Bridges: U.S. Strategic Communication and Public Diplomacy After 9/11 by R. S. Zaharna.

In her book, Professor Zaharna provides an overview of U.S. public diplomacy over the past decade and discusses network communication and its role in new public diplomacy. She also examines the transformative power of globalized communication which has led to borderless media and diminished publics. In his review, Seib notes that Battles to Bridges provides solid analysis of nation branding and contributes to the study and practice of public diplomacy. "With this thoughtful, accessible book, Zaharna makes an important contribution to the study and practice of public diplomacy," writes Seib. Click here to read the full CPD Book Review.
