The Obama administration is planning to expand opportunities for Americans to travel to Cuba, the latest step aimed at encouraging more contact between people in both countries, while leaving intact the decades-old embargo against the island’s Communist government, according to Congressional and administration officials.

Eight of the Terracotta soldiers from China's Qin Dynasty and more than 100 Terracotta warriors from the ensuing Han Dynasty have arrived in Stockholm for an exhibition in the East Asian Museum starting Aug. 27, sources with the Chinese Embassy said here on Monday.

Recently, an official Chinese paper, the International Herald Leader, carried a report on “sharpening contradictions” in various areas of Chinese society, including standards of living and culture. The report lists 50 types of what it calls “seriously strange phenomena.”

With its rich heritage and culture India can show the world the path to freedom, peace and enlightenment. Though that path is long and arduous the journey must begin. Nations rise and prosper because of the clear direction they choose.

Seoul City’s internship program draws 45 students from 17 countries...the Global Internship Program, which was launched in 2008 as a government project to help foreign students understand Korea better while working as interns. The program is in its fifth year.

Eleven students and three staff members from a school in East Java, Indonesia, have visited Young [Australia] for a week. The school is one of three Indonesian sister schools to Young High School and the first to visit on cultural exchange.

Once confined to temples, Indian classical dance is crossing the seas, creating new cross-cultural idioms and churning out foreign exponents.

The United Nations agency mandated to conserve the world's heritage today inscribed new cultural sites in Viet Nam, China, Tajikistan, France, the Netherlands, Mexico and Brazil on the World Heritage List in Bulgaria.
