The Women’s Situation Room (WSR), a women’s peace building mechanism that mitigates conflict before, during and after elections in Africa has been replicated in Ghana. It is a non-partisan and neutral process that mobilises women in collaboration with the youth to engage stakeholders to support the women’s call for peaceful elections as a peace and security measure in accordance with UNSCR Resolution 1325.

The WA government has honoured the heroic actions of a Perth doctor by donating an ultrasound machine to his home country of Ghana. "This is a demonstration of the generosity of the people of Western Australia, and particularly the hospital, towards the people of Ghana. A machine like this is going to help address some of the health concerns we have," she said.

The Founder and Executive Director of the Black Star International Film Festival Juliet Asante, made this known at a press briefing in Accra. According to her, films are a source of national pride and identity, a cultural diplomacy tool; employment creator and also attracts investments. The Japanese Ambassador to Ghana, Mr Kaoru Yoshimura, has inaugurated a Japanese language and cultural centre at the Mary Star of the Sea International School at Kasoa in the Central Region. On Monday, President Mukherjee would join Ghanaian President John Mahama for a one-on-one meeting. A number of agreements, including on setting up a Joint Commission between India and Ghana and on renewal of Cultural Exchange Programme, are likely to be inked during Mukherjee's visit.
