Many events occur in the world today and such events as the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue can be useful for solving global problems, Hungarian Minister of State for Cultural and Science Diplomacy Istvn Jgyrt told Trend. He made the remarks on the sidelines of the 4th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku May 5. "The forum is extremely important," Jgyrt said. "Without a dialogue it is impossible to go forward. The forum should continue to bring people together."

'Hard power' can no longer stop conflicts nor the rise of violent extremism and “ancient hatreds” such as antisemitism and racial discrimination, the head of the United Nations cultural agency said today, insisting that “we need 'soft power' of education, knowledge, culture, communication, the sciences, to strengthen the values we share and recognize the destiny we hold in common.”

Under the patronage of the President of Azerbaijan H. E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, Baku will be hosting the 4th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue on May 5-6, 2017. The topic of this year’s Forum is: “Advancing Intercultural Dialogue: New Avenues for Human Security, Peace and Sustainable Development;” it is being organized in cooperation with UNESCO, UN Alliance of Civilizations and other prestigious international organizations.

The first Armenian-Russian youth forum kicked off in Yerevan on Thursday, Novosti-Armenia reports. The forum’s mission is to develop international youth cooperation and to get the Russian and the Armenian youth involved in socioeconomic development of their countries Russian ambassador Ivan Volinkin said in his welcoming message, as cited by director of the Russian science and culture center in Yerevan Mark Kalinin.
