We should pursue a strategy of diplomatic engagement by inviting as many nations as possible to set shop in Kuwait...With that, we should work hard to establish satellite offices and coordination bureaus of international governmental and non-governmental organizations here in Kuwait bringing in a great number of diplomats as possible.

Kuwaiti artistes mesmerized Indian audience in New Delhi at the “Kuwaiti Cultural Week”...It was jointly organized by the Kuwaiti embassy and the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) to celebrate the strong ties between the two nations. The event was attended by diplomats from various Gulf countries, journalists from both Kuwait and India, academicians, scholars and other dignitaries.

The Korean embassy began Tuesday night, a week of activities at the embassy to introduce authentic Korean culture to Kuwait. “Recently, I have realized that there has been an increasing interest in Korea among Kuwaiti people,” said Kyungsik Kim, the ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Kuwait, adding” I think cultural exchange is very important to strengthen bilateral relationships.”

The Kuwait Journalists Association (KJA) hosted a seminar on Public Diplomacy on Tuesday evening, with Canadian Ambassador, Douglas George and Computer Linguistics Professor Salah Najem.The seminar was moderated by Dr Nada Al-Muttawa...

On the opposing side, there are those who cite Kuwait in the sixties, seventies and a substantial part of the eighties when its leadership in development, business, foreign aid and cultural production afforded it a soft power influence many times its counterparts.

“JAMM is a vessel to promote cultural diplomacy,” the founders state on their website. “Our goal is to advance Arab and Iranian artists in the West, and Western artists in the East, and thus encourage further collaboration between the two,” they explained.

The purpose of the seminar was to shed more light on the positive relationship between Japan and Kuwait, to strengthen the bridge between the two countries especially in the economic field, and to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Kuwait and Japan.

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva described his country’s relations with Kuwait as being deeply-rooted and dating back to 40 years of diplomatic ties, adding that Brazil truly wanted to enhance these ties...
