In the most recent paper from the CPD Perspectives series, Donna Marie Oglesby examines the role the public plays in global climate change politics, using the 2009 climate change negotiations in Copenhagen as a primary example.

On December 10-11, Philip Seib, CPD Director, Nicholas Cull, CPD University Fellow and Director of the USC Master of Public Diplomacy Program and Eytan Gilboa, CPD Senior Scholar held workshops at the Public Diplomacy in the Information Age Conference & Workshops, hosted by CMS Academy, in New Delhi, India.

This week, the Public Diplomacy discipline lost a great scholar, Professor Philip M. Taylor from the University of Leeds. Professor Taylor was a great supporter of CPD's work and will be greatly missed.

Welcome to the November issue of PDiN Monitor, CPD's electronic review of public diplomacy in the news. This issue focuses on the topic of President Obama in Indonesia.

On November 29, CPD launched WikiLeaks: America's Cablegate Media Monitor which tracks global and domestic media coverage of the U.S. diplomatic cables leaked on November 28, 2010.

From November 22 -24, 2010 CPD Director Philip Seib presented a series of public and private lectures on public diplomacy to the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the U.S. Embassy in Hungary, the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs, Budapest Corvinus University, and Péter Pázmány Catholic University.

Naomi Leight, Assistant Director for Research & Publications at CPD, will participate in a roundtable discussion at the U.S. Summit & Initiative for Global Citizen Diplomacy held on Nov. 18 at the Grand Hyatt Washington.

On Nov. 11, the USC Center on Public Diplomacy released a Media Monitor Report on Public Diplomacy and the U.S. Congress. The Media Monitor ran from September 2008 to November 2010, and aggregated the legislative actions, such as U.S. House and Senate bills, resolutions and hearings related to public diplomacy, as well as media coverage on those actions.
