What's Facebook's role in digital diplomacy?
Watch an exclusive video interview with Sharon Yang, who works with Facebook's Politics and Government Outreach team in Washington, D.C.
Sharon spoke to CPD at Diplocamp 2019 during PD Week in Brussels, which convened diplomats, thought leaders, scholars and more to learn and share best practices for how technology is fundamentally shaping the field of public diplomacy. There, she discussed Facebook trends across various embassies and missions around the world. She also touched on how the platform deals with issues of transparency and misinformation.
"In terms of combating misinformation," Yang discusses, "we have various mechanisms and some partnerships with third-party fact checkers in order to ensure that our platform is safe and secure for people to express themselves."
