CPD Contributing Researcher, Candidate, USC Master of Communication Management
Lydia is a USC Communication Management Master's Candidate and a recipient of the Royal Thai Scholarship, a scholarship offered by the Thai government to study a graduate degree for civil service. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in politics and international relations at Thammasat University in Thailand where she was a student in a reciprocal exchange program at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Her research interests include public diplomacy and soft power in non-Western perspectives, critical security studies through media, and crisis communication.
Prior to her study at USC, Lydia served as a political intern to the U.S. Embassy in Thailand. During her time there, Lydia reported on social media news and trends related to Thai political issues and monitored important political developments and kept track of new constitutional draft and national reform issues in Thailand. Before that, Lydia was a consular trainee at the Embassy of Belgium where she helped promote mutual understanding and support for Belgian foreign policy goals and handled fraud, visa, and management issues.
